Fourthly, applicants should also possess Aadhaar card which is mandatory for availing benefits under PMKMY. Non-resident Indians (NRIs), Persons of Indian Origin (PIOs) and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders are not eligible for this scheme.

It’s worth noting that beneficiaries will receive a monthly pension amount once they turn 60 upon having completed all necessary formalities during enrolment.

Benefits of PMKMY

How to Apply for PMKMY?

Applying for PMKMY is a simple process that can be completed both online and offline. To apply online, you need to go to the official website of PMKMY and click on ‘New Registration.’ You will then be asked to enter your Aadhaar number, name as per Aadhaar, mobile number, email ID and bank details.

After filling in these basic details, you have to upload a scanned copy of your Aadhaar card and then submit the application form. In case there are any discrepancies found in the data entered by applicants in their forms or uploaded documents, they may receive an SMS regarding correction needed.

To apply offline, visit any Common Service Center (CSC) near you with all necessary documents such as identity proof like PAN Card/Passport/Voter id card/Driving License/Aadhar Card etc., bank passbook showing account number along with IFSC code or Kisan Credit Card.

Once your application has been submitted successfully either online or offline mode , it will take up to 30 days for verification from concerned authorities after which successful applicants will receive their pension scheme certificate via post.


1. What is the age limit for eligibility under PMKMY?
Answer: The scheme is open for all small and marginal farmers aged between 18 to 40 years.

2. How much pension can a farmer get from PMKMY?
Answer: A farmer who joins the scheme at the age of 18 will have to make a monthly contribution of Rs.55, while those joining at the age of 40 would need to contribute Rs.200 per month towards the pension fund. After attaining the age of 60 years, they will receive a minimum pension amounting to Rs.3,000 per month.
